CH411 and R415 were dispatched at 6:35am Sunday morning to Netherland Road to assist the Knox County Sheriff’s Office and a towing company with a vehicle in the water. Upon arrival to the scene, with a crew from R415 in Mustang water rescue suits they assisted in the recovery of a vehicle at the boat ramp to Knox Lake.
There were a total of 10 FCFD personnel that responded to the call. All FCFD units were back in quarters by 7:17am.
As the new year is almost upon us, we know that many are celebrating it. As much as we enjoy meeting our residents and those passing through the fire district, we would rather not see you tonight on negative terms. If you drink, do the responsible thing and don’t drive. Call a friend, a cab, or simply stay where you are. Nothing is worth risking your life or the lives of others on the roadway.

R415, G412, G414 were dispatched at 3:18pm on Sunday afternoon to Front Street in the Village of Fredericktown on the report of a gas leak.
Upon arrival to scene the crew of R415 checked the residence with a multi-gas meter with no readings of a leak found. Units went in service at 3:40pm.
The FCFD had a total of ten firefighters and one cadet respond to this call.
CH411, E419, E413, R415, T417, G412, and G414 were dispatched at 12:09pm on Sunday to Tuttle Avenue in the Village of Fredericktown on the report of a trailer on fire. An engine from the Mount Vernon Fire Department was dispatched mutual-aid as well.
While fire units were enroute to the scene, additional reports from Fredericktown P.D. advised this was a fully involved camper on fire and not a trailer.
Upon arrival, the crew of E419 stretched an 1 3/4” attack line for suppression, and additional incoming units assisted with extinguishing the debris.
According to Chief Scott Mast, the fire was accidental in nature and started in the area of an electric space heater.
The FCFD had a total of 14 personnel respond to this call. Crews were back in service by 12:54.
CH411, E419, E413, T417, G412 were dispatched at 4:50am on Friday morning to the 6000 block of CR 15 in Morrow County on a residential structure fire. This was a mutual-aid request from the Central Ohio Joint Fire District.
The crew of E419 assisted with overhaul operations. E413 and G412 were put in service before arriving on scene. FCFD crews were back in quarters by 6:35am.
The FCFD had a total of 13 personnel respond to this call.
The Fredericktown Community Fire District was dispatched at 8:32pm on Saturday night to the 20000 block of Fredericktown-Amity Road in Pike Twp. on the initial report of a garage fire. College Township Fire Department was also dispatched for an engine, automatic-aid on the initial call.
While enroute to the scene, FCFD Chief Scott Mast requested additional tankers off the run card with College Township and the Eastern Knox County Joint Fire District responding. Medic 441 from Fredericktown EMS was also dispatched to standby at the scene. Additional reports while en route to the scene indicated that this was a residential structure fire.
Upon arrival to the scene by Chief Mast was that there was “fire coming from the garage, and heavy smoke from the remainder of the house.”
The first arriving engine company was from Station 450 who made an initial attack on the fire. Other additional incoming companies stretched additional 1 ¾” attack lines, completed a search of the structure, extinguished remaining fire, and ventilated the residence.
An estimated 5000 gallons of water were used in total to extinguish the fire.
A lengthy period of time was involved on scene due to difficult overhaul operations to locate further fire within the structure.
The fire is actively being investigated at this time and was turned over to the Ohio State Fire Marshal’s Office on Saturday night.
The home was not occupied at the time of the fire, and was called in by a neighbor. The family lost three dogs and two cats in the fire.
There was no damage estimate to the home.
The FCFD had a total of 16 firefighters respond to this call. In total, four engines, three tankers, two rescues, and two grass trucks responded to the scene. All FCFD units were in service 12:15am.

The FCFD was dispatched at 10:10pm on Saturday, October 24 to East Fifth Street in the Village of Fredericktown. The mutual-aid run was a request from Fredericktown EMS for manpower on a cardiac arrest call. The FCFD had nine personnel respond to the call.
CH411, CH412, R415, G412, G414, and T417 were dispatched at 4:36pm last Saturday to the area of Cassell Road and Ohio 13 on the report of a car versus semi crash. Upon arrival to the scene CH412 marked that there was a working car fire.
The crew from R415 stretched a 1 ¾” attack line for suppression.
FCFD crews were on scene until 6:45pm. There were a total of 13 FCFD personnel that responded to the call.
CH411, R415, G414 were dispatched at 10:03pm on Tuesday night to the 11000 block of Yankee Street on the report of a single vehicle motor vehicle crash. Upon arrival by CH411 a single vehicle was found just off the roadway with moderate damage to the drivers side.
The crew of R415 disabled the battery and secured the vehicle while crews kept the roadway shut down for the Ohio State Highway Patrol to investigate.
All FCFD crews were back in quarters by 11:37pm. There were a total of 15 personnel who responded to the call.
