Our fire boots are still out in the community for donation collection for just a couple more weeks. Thank you to everyone that has donated so far and is helping to make Christmas a little brighter for the children in our community. You will find these fire boots at businesses around Fredericktown. Yes, thats correct, our drive is operated independently by our members with 100% volunteer work.
Did you know that we work directly with Fredericktown Interchurch to identify the local need? With the assistance of Interchurch we find out minimal information such as age and boy/girl to know how many people that we will be shopping for. Families sign up through their organization thus removing that process from our toy drive.
Did you know that our toys stay in the Fredericktown area? Thats right, the money and toys that come in through our toy drive stay local to our fire district. There is a significant need within our area alone and we strive to make sure that we are able to provide for families here.
How are we funded? Our drive is funded solely through donations and a community grant that we have received from Walmart. No district funds are used for the toy drive. Our flower sales, boot drive, and donations that are sent in directly for the toy drive are what makes it happen!
