Welcome to the F.C.F.D. Website

Thank you for visiting the Internet home of the Fredericktown Community Fire District. Our all-volunteer Central Ohio department serves an estimated 8700 citizens in 115 square miles of rural Knox County. We trace our Fredericktown firefighting roots back to the year 1854 when the first volunteer firefighting company was organized. We started as 11 men armed with speaking trumpets, wool hats, fire buckets, and hand pumps we have evolved. Today we stand together as 23 men and women operating from a single firehouse with some of the finest equipment in the area.

Smoke Detector Campaign

As a portion of our organized Fire Preventioon Program the Fredericktown Community Fire District will be launching a local smoke detector campaign for the residents of our district to provide FREE smoke detectors and educational material about them. During 2009 we were very successful at getting detectors out into the community, and we are looking to continue building that program. Check back as more information will become available in the spring.

FCFD Cadet Program

In 2009 the FCFD launched our very first firefighter cadet program to take local youth ages 14-18 that are interested in fire and rescue and get them involved. Once accepted, cadets go through a 36-hour training that is based off of the Ohio 36-hour volunteer training and utilizes the same curriculum. For more information about the program, visit their website at http://fcfdcadetprogram.net
